After 28 years working with technicians, parts professionals, warranty administrators, and supervisors to continuously improve the maintenance and operating condition of their fleets and fixed assets, Cetaris has gained some deep insights into the habits that lead to better data and an improved maintenance program. Many of the great maintenance processes we have seen started with a sharp focus on these four benchmarks.

  1. No overdue PMs at the end of the day. Achieving this ensures that all PMs are being completed by their due date.
  2. No Purchase Orders in 'Open' status for more than 7 days. This ensures the parts are delivered by the vendor, and 'Received' in the system in a timely manner.
  3. No Purchase Orders, older than 30 days that are not 'Closed'. This indicates the purchase process is completed within an allowable timeline and vendors have been paid (unless the payment terms are past 30 days).
  4. No more than 10% of number of Work Orders with reserved parts. This indicates that parts are being replenished and purchased in a timely manner preventing sites from running out of parts.
